The Stanford NY Democratic Party successfully ran on a similar platform in the 2021 town elections — utilizing the momentum from the past year and a half, the candidates for Town Board pledge to uphold the following platform when elected. * Continue to strengthen community ties, building on Stanford’s tradition of volunteerism and partnership.
* Safeguard Town finances and taxpayer money through careful budgeting, cost saving measures, and utilization of grants
* Support tradespeople and small business owners in Stanford through intentional policy.
* Prioritize farming longevity and agricultural tourism in zoning planning ensuring long term value for owners.
* Enhance recreational facilities and programming at Stanford parks providing safe and inclusive resources for our community.
* Maintain and rehabilitate town facilities and equipment in the most cost-effective manner.
* Develop and implement local governmental policies and procedures that reflect best practices while improving the efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability of town government.
* Keep Stanford residents informed and safe through regular communications.
We want our platform to be a living, vital statement that will continue to respond to the needs of our town and the priorities of everyone who lives here — and of course our platform will evolve as new elections approach.
